Serious but not an emergency — the car drives normally and you should keep wearing your belts, but anyone in the front seats could be hurt worse in a crash until the belts are replaced.

What's wrong, in plain English

The front seat belts in some 2023 Nissan Rogues include a part that pulls the belt snug against you the instant a crash begins. Those parts may have been built incorrectly, so the driver and front passenger belts may not hold people properly in a crash. The belts look and feel normal in everyday use, so there is no way to spot the problem yourself. Dealers will replace the front seat belt assemblies as needed, free of charge.

Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023 Rogue vehicles. The driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioners may have been incorrectly manufactured, which can cause the seat belts to not properly restrain occupants. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection," 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies," and 210 "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
Safety risk: Improperly restrained occupants have an increased risk of injury during a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the front seat belt assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 26, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PD105.
