These cars can turn on the hazard flashers automatically when the vehicle senses a possible collision ahead. On these vehicles, the flashers may switch on in ordinary driving situations when there is no emergency. Because federal rules cover how warning lamps behave, these cars do not meet that standard. Drivers around you may not understand why your flashers are on and may react in an unexpected way. Dealers fix this with a free software update.

Component: EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HAZARD FLASHING WARNING LIGHTS
Summary: Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Taycan vehicles. The pre-collision automatic hazard lights may activate in non-emergency situations. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Safety risk: An activation of hazard lights in non-emergency situations could confuse other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will reprogram the hazard lights, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 2, 2021. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is AMC1.
