Porsche Taycan front brake hoses can crack and leak

NHTSA campaign 24V455000 · Reported 2024-06-19 · Porsche Cars North America, Inc.

high How serious is it? About this label

Weaker brakes and longer stopping distances are a real crash risk; the notice does not say to park the car, but have it inspected and repaired as soon as you can.

What's wrong, in plain English

The brake hoses at the front wheels on these Taycans can develop cracks and let brake fluid leak out. Brake fluid is what carries the force from your foot to the brakes at the wheels, so losing it weakens how well the car stops. The car may need a longer distance to come to a halt than you expect, especially in a sudden stop. Dealers replace the front brake hoses at no charge.

What you should do

1. Look up your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if your Taycan is affected.
2. Contact your Porsche dealer, or Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243, and give them recall number ARB0.
3. Book the free brake hose replacement, and go sooner if the brake pedal feels soft or a warning light comes on.
