That means a passenger may not be reminded to buckle, and an unbelted person is far more likely to be hurt in a crash. Dealers update the instrument cluster software for free.
A ring that holds the top of a front suspension strut in place can work loose. If it does, the strut can come out of position and lose the air that supports the car's weight on that corner. That side of the car can drop, and the car can become hard to steer and control. Your Porsche dealer will look at the strut and put in a new one if it is needed, at no cost to you.
A software problem can leave the big center screen and the touch panel below it completely black right after you start the car. Moving the driver or front passenger seat forward and back can damage the wiring bundle attached to the seat on these Porsche Taycans. That wiring is part of the airbag system. If it is damaged, airbags may be switched off without you knowing, so they might not inflate in a crash. A dealer inspects the wiring, wraps it with fabric tape so it stops rubbing, and repairs any wires that are already damaged.
Certain 2020-2021 Porsche Taycan cars that were ordered with the optional rear center seat have a wiring bundle for the center seat belt buckle that sits in the way. It can block access to the lower child seat anchor points for the right rear seat, so a child seat cannot be attached properly. Because of this, the car does not meet the federal safety rule for child seat anchors.
One 2021 Taycan left the factory with its front and rear suspension out of alignment. When the wheels don't point exactly where they should, the tires scrub against the road and wear out faster than normal, often unevenly across the tread. A rod inside the brake booster — the part that links your brake pedal to the rest of the braking system — may be loose and could come apart. If that happens, the brake pedal fails, so pressing it will not slow or stop the car. This affects certain 2020-2021 911 Carrera and Taycan models. Dealers will inspect the brake booster and repair or replace it, free of charge. Owner letters went out in late October 2021.
Your seat belts have a locking feature that clamps the belt tight so a child seat stays firmly in place. On these cars, that lock can switch off too early, letting the belt loosen so the child seat is no longer held securely. Because of this, the vehicle does not meet the federal safety rule covering how people are protected in a crash. A dealer will inspect the seat belts and replace any that are faulty, free of charge.
