Porsche Taycan suspension misalignment wears tires early

NHTSA campaign 22V052000 · Reported 2022-02-02 · Porsche Cars North America, Inc.

medium How serious is it? About this label

Worn or unevenly worn tires can increase the risk of a crash, but the notice doesn't tell owners to stop driving — just have the alignment and tires checked soon.

What's wrong, in plain English

One 2021 Taycan left the factory with its front and rear suspension out of alignment. When the wheels don't point exactly where they should, the tires scrub against the road and wear out faster than normal, often unevenly across the tread. Porsche dealers will check both axles, reset the alignment if it is off, and replace any tire that has already worn prematurely or unevenly. All of the inspection and parts work is free.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if your Taycan is the affected vehicle. 2. Contact your Porsche dealer or Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243 (recall ANA2). 3. Get the axles inspected, aligned, and any worn tires replaced at no charge.
