Ford F-150 brake master cylinder can leak brake fluid
high How serious is it? About this label
Serious — losing front braking power means longer stopping distances and a higher chance of a crash, so get it in quickly and watch for a soft, low, or hard pedal.
What's wrong, in plain English
On these trucks and SUVs with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine, the part that pushes brake fluid through the system can leak. Fluid escapes from the front brake circuit into the brake booster behind it. As fluid is lost, the brake pedal may feel different or go farther down, you may have to push much harder, and the front brakes may not work as well. That means your vehicle needs more room and more effort to stop.
