What's wrong, in plain English

The Nexo runs on hydrogen gas instead of gasoline. It has sensors whose whole job is to notice if that gas starts leaking out of the system that carries it to the engine. On these vehicles, those sensors may not catch a leak. If hydrogen escapes without being detected, it raises the chance of a fire, either while you are driving or while the vehicle is parked. The dealer replaces the leak sensors with new ones at no cost.

2. Park outside and away from your house, garage, or other structures until the sensors are replaced.

Summary: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2019-2021 Nexo vehicles. The hydrogen gas detection sensors may fail to detect leaks in the hydrogen gas delivery system.
Safety risk: A hydrogen gas leak can increase the risk of a fire while parked or driving.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park their vehicles outside and away from structures until the recall remedy is completed. Dealers will replace the hydrogen gas detection sensors, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 12, 2022. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 225.
