The notice does not tell owners to stop driving, but if the wiring is damaged your airbags may not protect you in a crash, so get the inspection done soon and pay attention to any airbag warning light on the dash.

What's wrong, in plain English

Moving the driver or front passenger seat forward and back can damage the wiring bundle attached to the seat on these Porsche Taycans. That wiring is part of the airbag system. If it is damaged, airbags may be switched off without you knowing, so they might not inflate in a crash. A dealer inspects the wiring, wraps it with fabric tape so it stops rubbing, and repairs any wires that are already damaged.

Summary: Porsche Cars of North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Taycan vehicles. The driver and passenger seat wire harness could become damaged during horizontal seat adjustment.
Safety risk: A damaged seat wire harness may deactivate air bags, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the seat wire harness for damage, add fabric tape to secure the harness, and repair damaged wires as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 22, 2022. Owners may contact Porsche's customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is ANA5.
