Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon passenger seat weld problem

NHTSA campaign 22V375000 · Reported 2022-05-26 · General Motors, LLC

medium How serious is it? About this label

The truck drives normally and there is no stop-driving order, but the passenger seat may not protect someone properly in a crash, so have it checked soon and consider keeping the front passenger seat empty until then.

What's wrong, in plain English

On trucks with a manual, hand-adjusted front passenger seat, a small hook that anchors the seat frame to its track may not have been welded correctly. If that weld lets go, the seat frame can separate from the track on the inboard side. This matters most in a crash, when the seat may not hold the passenger in place the way it is designed to, so an injury could be worse. A dealer will inspect the seat and replace the cushion frame if needed.

What you should do

1. Look up your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your truck is affected. 2. Call your Chevrolet dealer at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC at 1-800-462-8782 and give them recall number N222368320. 3. Have the seat inspected and the frame replaced if needed — free of charge.
