Cadillac XT5, XT6, GMC Acadia fuel tank valve leaks
critical How serious is it? About this label
The problem only matters in a rollover crash, where it could lead to a fuel leak and fire; GM does not tell owners to stop driving, so keep driving but schedule the inspection.
What's wrong, in plain English
On certain 2022 Cadillac XT5, XT6 and GMC Acadia all-wheel-drive vehicles, a valve on the fuel tank may not seal properly. That valve is meant to keep gasoline from escaping if the vehicle ever rolls over in a crash. If it is knocked out of place or missing, fuel can leak during a rollover, and spilled gasoline can catch fire. Dealers will inspect the tank and replace the tank shell if the valve is bad.
What you should do
2. Contact your dealer, or call Cadillac at 1-800-458-8006 or GMC at 1-800-462-8782, for the fuel tank inspection.
3. Let the dealer replace the fuel tank shell if needed — inspection and repair are free.
