Cadillac XT5, XT6, GMC Acadia tire label unreadable

NHTSA campaign 22V708000 · Reported 2022-09-22 · General Motors, LLC

low How serious is it? About this label

Illegible tire size information may result in the wrong tires being installed, increasing the risk of a crash. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

On certain 2023 Cadillac XT5, XT6 and GMC Acadia vehicles, the sticker on the post behind the driver's door may be hard to read. That label lists the tire size your vehicle is built for, and federal rules require it to be legible. If a tire shop cannot read it, the wrong size tires could be put on the vehicle, and the wrong tires can make it harder to handle and raise crash risk.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if your vehicle is covered by recall N222381690.
2. Contact your dealer, or call Cadillac at 1-800-458-8006 or GMC at 1-800-462-8782, to have the certification label replaced free of charge.
3. Until then, confirm your tire size from the owner's manual before buying new tires.
