Kia Sportage side curtain airbags may be twisted
medium How serious is it? About this label

What's wrong, in plain English
During assembly, the side curtain airbags in some 2023 Sportage models may have been twisted. These are the long airbags that drop down from above the side windows to protect heads in a side crash or rollover. A twisted airbag may not unfold the way it should, so it could hurt someone instead of cushioning them. A Kia dealer will look at the curtain airbags and reinstall them properly if needed, free of charge. Kia mailed owner letters December 28, 2022.
