Polestar 2 rearview camera may not show in reverse

NHTSA campaign 25V615000 · Reported 2025-09-15 · Polestar Automotive USA, Inc.

medium How serious is it? About this label

Moderately serious: losing the camera view raises the risk of a crash while reversing, but the notice does not tell owners to stop driving, so you can keep using the car while you book the update.

What's wrong, in plain English

When you shift into reverse, the backup camera picture may not appear on the screen at all, leaving you without a view of what is behind the car. The fix is a free software update at the dealer. Polestar mailed owner letters on June 4, 2026. This recall replaces two earlier ones, so even if your car already had a camera software fix, it needs this new update too. Until it is done, turn and look behind you before backing up.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your Polestar 2 is included.
2. Contact Polestar customer service at 1-800-806-2504 or your service center and ask for recall RP1069.
3. Have the software update installed — free of charge, and needed even if earlier recalls 24V477 or 25V280 were already done.
