Volvo VN trucks may have doors that won't open inside
medium How serious is it? About this label
A door that traps people inside is a real injury risk in an emergency, though the notice does not say to park the truck, so it can stay in service until the free repair is done.
What's wrong, in plain English
Some 2026 Volvo VN trucks left the factory with the cable inside the interior door handle hooked up wrong. When that happens, pulling the inside handle will not open the door. Anyone in the cab could be stuck, which matters most after a crash or any time someone needs to get out quickly. The dealer replaces the door latch cable and the small clip that holds it, free of charge. Owner letters went out November 11, 2025.
What you should do
2. Contact a Volvo Trucks dealer or customer service at 800-528-6586 to schedule the cable and clip replacement.
3. Until it's fixed, test both doors from the inside so you know which one opens, and get the free repair done promptly.
