Volvo truck wheel nuts may loosen and wheels detach
critical How serious is it? About this label
Very serious — a wheel can come off and cause a crash, so do not drive the truck until the repair is complete.
⚠ NHTSA advises not driving this vehicle until it is repaired. See all such recalls.
What's wrong, in plain English
The nuts holding the wheels on these trucks can work loose, and a wheel can come off entirely. A wheel coming off can make you lose control of the truck, and the loose wheel itself becomes a danger to other people on the road. Volvo says not to drive these trucks until they are repaired. A dealer will check the wheel and hub surfaces, clean off any leftover masking material, and replace worn parts at no cost.
