What's wrong, in plain English
In these Volvo VNL trucks, a software error can miscalculate how much weight is sitting on the truck's axles. This mistake happens when the truck is pulling certain smoothbore tanker trailers. Because the calculation is wrong, the brakes may not perform as well as they should while towing, which can affect how well and how quickly the truck is able to slow down and come to a stop.
What you should do
2. Contact a Volvo Trucks dealer, or call Volvo customer service at 800-528-6586.
3. The repair, a software update, is free.
