Tesla Cybertruck accessory light bar can fall off

NHTSA campaign 25V735000 · Reported 2025-10-28 · Tesla, Inc.

medium How serious is it? About this label

Moderately serious: the main danger is to other drivers if the light bar falls into traffic, and the notice does not tell owners to stop driving.

What's wrong, in plain English

Some 2024 Cybertrucks had an off-road light bar installed at a Tesla service center. The wrong surface primer may have been used to bond the light bar to the windshield, so the attachment can weaken. Over time the light bar can work loose and detach from the truck. If it comes off while you are driving, it drops into the road and becomes a hazard for drivers behind you. Only trucks with this service-installed accessory are affected.
