Why do Chrysler wheelchair van restraints fail to lock the chair?
All three of these recalls involve the same part, not the van itself: Q'Straint QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair retractors whose locking mechanism may fail to secure the chair. The recalls come from three different mobility converters — Rollx Vans, Vantage Mobility and Braun — and each one names the Chrysler Pacifica, which spans 2018 through 2025 and is the only model in all three. The 2018-2019 Dodge Grand Caravan and 2019 Ram Promaster appear only in the Rollx campaign; the Vantage Mobility recall covers 2021-2022 Pacificas alongside Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna Hybrid conversions. All three are rated high severity, and all three were announced between December 2025 and May 2026.
Warning signs to watch for
- A retractor that will not click or lock onto the wheelchair frame
- Webbing that keeps pulling out freely instead of locking when you tug it
- The wheelchair shifts, rolls or moves during the ride even after being tied down
- No dashboard light or alert is described in any of these notices — the fault is in the restraint hardware itself
Is it safe to keep driving?
None of these three recalls carries a stop-driving order, and none tells you to park outside, so the van itself can stay in service. The restriction is on the wheelchair position: because the retractors may not lock, the notices warn that a chair can move during the ride and injure the person in it. Until a converter or dealer has inspected the retractors, do not rely on them to hold an occupied wheelchair. If you can, seat that passenger in a regular seat with a seat belt until the repair is done.
What the free repair involves
All three recalls are handled the same way: the retractors are inspected and replaced as necessary, free of charge. Rollx and Braun are working with Q'Straint, the restraint maker, while Vantage Mobility has its dealers do the work. Call the converter that built your van — Rollx at 1-800-956-6668, Vantage Mobility at 1-800-488-9082, or Braun at 1-800-488-0359.

Common questions
Should I call Chrysler or the company that converted my van?
Call the converter, not Chrysler. These recalls were filed by Rollx Vans, Vantage Mobility and Braun, and each handles its own inspection and retractor replacement. Their customer service numbers are 1-800-956-6668, 1-800-488-9082 and 1-800-488-0359 respectively.
My Pacifica is a standard minivan, not a wheelchair conversion. Am I affected?
No. All three recalls cover vans that were converted for wheelchair use and fitted with Q'Straint QRT-Deluxe or QRT-Max restraints. A Pacifica that left Chrysler as a standard minivan and was never converted does not have the recalled retractors.
Can I transport a wheelchair passenger before the retractors are inspected?
The notices do not forbid it, but they warn the chair may not stay secured and can move during the ride. Treat the wheelchair position as unsafe until the retractors are checked, and seat the passenger in a regular seat with a belt if possible.
