Lincoln Nautilus lane-centering may miss hands-off-wheel driver warnings

NHTSA campaign 26V377000 · Reported 2026-06-09 · Ford Motor Company

medium How serious is it? About this label

Ford says a missing hands-off warning raises the risk of a crash, but the notice does not tell owners to stop driving — keep both hands on the wheel and stay in control until the free software update is done.

What's wrong, in plain English

Your 2019 Nautilus has a system that helps keep the car centered in its lane. It is supposed to notice when you take your hands off the steering wheel for too long and warn you to put them back. On these vehicles, an earlier repair was not done correctly, so that check may not work properly. The car may fail to warn you. A dealer will reload the correct steering software.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your vehicle is included (these VINs became searchable July 6, 2026).
2. Call a Lincoln dealer or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and give them recall number 26S44 to book the software update.
3. Have the update installed — the repair is free, and owner letters were mailed July 8, 2026.
