Volvo VNL and VNR trucks have faulty turn signals

NHTSA campaign 26V208000 · Reported 2026-04-01 · Volvo Trucks North America

medium How serious is it? About this label

Turn signals that fail can lead to a crash, though the notice does not tell owners to park the truck.

What's wrong, in plain English

Certain Volvo VNL and VNR trucks have turn signals that may not work the way they should. The turn signal is how you tell drivers around you that you are about to turn or change lanes. If it does not come on properly, other drivers get no warning about what you are doing, which can lead to a crash. Because of this, the trucks do not meet the federal safety rule for lamps and signals. A dealer will reprogram the turn signal software.

What you should do

1. Look up your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls (these VINs became searchable April 8, 2026). 2. Call Volvo Trucks customer service at 800-528-6586 and mention recall RVXX2604 to schedule service. 3. Have the dealer update the turn signal software — it is free.
