On these vehicles, the roof panel between the top of the windshield and the panoramic sunroof may not have been glued on correctly during an earlier repair at a shop. Because the bonding is weak, that front panel can work loose and separate from the car. If it comes off while you are driving, it can fly onto the road and hit or startle other drivers behind you.
On some Mercedes-Benz vehicles with a panoramic sunroof, the strip of roof between the windshield and the sunroof was glued back on during an earlier repair. That glue may not have been applied correctly, so the bond can weaken over time. If it lets go, the panel can peel off the car while you are driving and land on the road, where it becomes a hazard for you and for the drivers behind you.
Some 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC models, including GLC 300, GLC 350e and AMG GLC 43 and 63 versions, left the factory with the wrong airbag warning label on the passenger sun visor. The label is printed in a foreign language instead of English. That warning explains why children should not ride in the front seat where the airbag can hurt them, so someone who cannot read it may not know the danger. A dealer will check the visor and put the correct label on.
On these Mercedes-Benz models, the front seat belt buckle can wrongly tell the car that a belt is unbuckled even when it is properly latched. When that happens, the car shuts off two crash protections: the system that tightens the belt the instant a crash starts, and the feature that prepares the car and occupants just before an impact. The belt still holds you, but that extra protection is missing. Dealers check the front buckles and replace them if needed.
On certain Mercedes-Benz C-Class and GLC models with the Audio 20 screen and automatic child-seat detection, the display that tells you whether the front passenger airbag is on or off can show the wrong status. It may say the airbag is ON when it is actually switched off. A passenger could then sit there believing the airbag will protect them in a crash when it will not. Dealers fix it with a software update to the audio screen.
