Chrysler Pacifica loose battery connection may cause stalling

NHTSA campaign 19V348000 · Reported 2019-05-09 · Chrysler (FCA US LLC)

high How serious is it? About this label

Losing steering assist or stalling in traffic can cause a crash; the notice does not tell owners to stop driving, but get this checked promptly.

What's wrong, in plain English

On Pacificas with the system that shuts the engine off at stoplights, the battery's ground connection may be loose. A loose connection can cut electrical power on and off, so you may suddenly lose power steering assist, meaning the wheel becomes much harder to turn, or the engine may stall while you are driving. A dealer will inspect the connection, clean the contact surfaces if needed, and put it back together properly and tightly.

What you should do
