Ford Transit van generator fuel hose can leak gasoline

NHTSA campaign 23V499000 · Reported 2023-07-19 · QUALITY VANS

critical How serious is it? About this label

This is a fire risk, so treat it seriously: the notice does not tell owners to park the van, but if you smell gasoline, stop using it and have it inspected right away.

What's wrong, in plain English

These vans were built with an Onan brand generator installed. The fuel hose that runs between the inline fuel filter and the pump module on that generator may not be properly secured, so gasoline can leak out. Leaking gas near anything hot or sparking can start a fire. The company will inspect the hose and clamps and replace them if needed, at no cost to you. Owner letters were mailed August 4, 2023.

What you should do

1. Look up your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your van is affected.
2. Call Quality Vans customer service at 1-480-464-7007 to arrange the inspection.
3. Have the fuel hose and clamps inspected and replaced as needed, free of charge.
