Rollx Wheelchair Vans: Restraints May Not Lock Wheelchair high

Reported 2025-12-17 · Campaign 25V876000 · Model years: 2020

These are vans converted by Rollx for wheelchair use. The straps that hold a wheelchair use retractors, which work like a seat belt: they pull in slack and then lock so the chair cannot roll. On these vans, the QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max retractors may fail to lock. If they do not lock, the wheelchair and the person in it can shift or slide while the van is moving, which raises the risk of injury. Rollx and the restraint maker will check the retractors and replace them if needed.

Ford and Lincoln vehicles: backup camera image may fail medium

Reported 2025-09-04 · Campaign 25V572000 · Model years: 2018

When you put the vehicle in reverse, the backup camera may show a picture that is upside down, distorted, or completely blank. That leaves you with less of a view behind you, so it is easier to miss a person or an object while backing up. Dealers will inspect the camera and replace it if needed at no cost. Ford is mailing owner letters in phases, starting January 2026 with more going out in June 2026.

Ford and Lincoln rearview camera image may go blank medium

Reported 2025-06-27 · Campaign 25V442000 · Model years: 2020

A software error affects the backup camera. The screen may show a blank image when you shift into reverse, so you cannot see what is behind the vehicle. Or the camera picture may stay on the screen after you have shifted out of reverse, which can distract you while driving forward. Either situation raises the risk of a crash. A dealer will update the rearview camera software free of charge.

Ford Transit van generator fuel hose can leak gasoline critical

Reported 2023-07-19 · Campaign 23V499000 · Model years: 2020

These vans were built with an Onan brand generator installed. The fuel hose that runs between the inline fuel filter and the pump module on that generator may not be properly secured, so gasoline can leak out. Leaking gas near anything hot or sparking can start a fire. The company will inspect the hose and clamps and replace them if needed, at no cost to you. Owner letters were mailed August 4, 2023.

Ford Transit AWD: rear driveshaft bolts can come loose high

Reported 2021-12-16 · Campaign 21V978000 · Model years: 2020

On certain 2020 Ford Transit vans with all-wheel drive, the bolts holding the rear driveshaft to the transfer case can work loose or get damaged. The driveshaft is the spinning shaft that sends power to the wheels, and if those bolts fail it can come apart from the transfer case. That can leave the van without drive power, or let the van roll on its own when parked if the parking brake is not set. Dealers will inspect and replace the bolts, and other parts if needed.

Ford Transit parking brake may fail from wrong part high

Reported 2021-08-11 · Campaign 21V631000 · Model years: 2018, 2020

Some of these vans were repaired with the wrong driveshaft part. A metal shield on that part can rub against the cable that works the parking brake, and the parking brake can stop holding. If it fails while the van is parked, the vehicle can roll on its own and hit a person, another car, or property. A dealer will fit a new parking brake cable on the passenger side that clears the shield, free of charge.

Ford and Lincoln backup camera image may go blank medium

Reported 2020-09-23 · Campaign 20V575000 · Model years: 2020

A poor electrical connection to the backup camera can make the screen go blank or show a fuzzy, distorted picture when you shift into reverse. It may happen on and off rather than all the time. If you cannot see what is behind you, it is easier to back into a person or an object. Federal rules require a working rear camera on these vehicles. Dealers will replace the camera at no charge.

Ford Escape and Transit side curtain airbags may not inflate high

Reported 2020-07-17 · Campaign 20V415000 · Model years: 2020

These vehicles have side curtain airbags that come down over the side windows in a crash to protect your head. A small part inside the airbag, which directs the gas that fills it, may not have been crimped on tightly. It can come loose from the inflator when the airbag goes off, so the curtain may not fill out the way it should and may not protect you properly in a crash. Dealers replace the curtain airbag units free.

Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster vans: seat belts may not secure high

Reported 2020-05-05 · Campaign 20V250000 · Model years: 2020

These vans were fitted with Freedman fold-away seats by an outside company. A part inside the front seat belt retractor — the piece that lets the belt reel in and out — was not set up correctly. Because of that, the belt may not lock and hold a person snugly against the seat. The vans do not meet the federal safety rule for seat belts. A dealer will put in new retractors at no cost.

Converted Transit and ProMaster vans have faulty seat belts high

Reported 2020-04-20 · Campaign 20V222000 · Model years: 2020

These converted Ford Transit and Ram ProMaster vans have folding passenger seats whose seat belts may not work properly. Inside each belt is a spool that lets the belt pull out and then locks it in place. On these seats, that locking setup may not have been adjusted correctly when it was built. Because of that, the belt may not hold a person firmly against the seat. Anyone riding in an affected seat may not be properly restrained in a crash.

Ford Transit glass roof hatch may shatter medium

Reported 2019-06-11 · Campaign 19V439000 · Model years: 2018

These Ford Transit vans were modified by LA West to add a glass roof hatch. Heat, cold, and the shaking of normal driving can put stress on that tempered glass. Over time the stress can make the glass hatch suddenly break apart. If that happens while people are in the van, pieces of glass can fall down onto passengers below and hurt them. The hatch lid itself is the part that needs to be replaced.

Ford Transit and Ram ProMaster foldaway seats may unlatch medium

Reported 2019-04-29 · Campaign 19V333000 · Model years: 2018

These vans were modified with Freedman Go-ES Foldaway seats, which fold up out of the way and then swing back down for passengers. When the seat cushion is swung back down into the upright seating position, it may not lock securely. Under a heavy load — such as a crash or a hard, sudden stop — the seat back can shift instead of holding firm. Freedman will repair the foldaway seats at no cost.

Ford Transit foldaway seats may not stay locked in place medium

Reported 2019-04-26 · Campaign 19V329000 · Model years: 2018

These Ford Transit vans were modified with Freedman GO-ES foldaway seats. When the bottom seat cushion is rotated up from its stowed position into the seating position, it may not lock securely. Under the load of a crash or a hard, sudden stop, the seat can move instead of staying put, which means it will not protect the person sitting in it the way it should. A technician will come repair the foldaway seats at no cost.

Ford Transit and Ram ProMaster fold-away seats may unlock medium

Reported 2019-04-18 · Campaign 19V313000 · Model years: 2018

These 2014-2018 Ford Transit and Ram ProMaster vans and 2014-2015 Ford Econoline vans were modified with Freedman fold-away seats. When the back seat cushion is moved from its stowed position into the upright seating position, it may not stay locked in place. Under a heavy load, such as a crash or a sudden hard stop, the cushion can shift instead of holding firm. Someone sitting in that seat could be hurt more badly as a result.

Ford Transit mini-coach foldaway seats may come unlocked medium

Reported 2019-03-28 · Campaign 19V247000 · Model years: 2018

Royale Limousine built these 2015-2018 mini-coaches on the Ford Transit and fitted them with Freedman fold-away seats that were themselves recalled earlier. Rotating the back seat cushion up from its stowed position may not lock it securely. If the vehicle is hit or stops suddenly, the cushion can move while someone is sitting on it. Royale is notifying owners, and its dealers will inspect the seat and repair it so it locks properly again.

Ford Transit shuttle van foldaway seats may not lock medium

Reported 2019-03-28 · Campaign 19V252000 · Model years: 2018

Waldoch modified certain 2018 Ford Transit shuttle vans by installing Freedman fold-away seats. When you rotate the back seat cushion up from its stowed position, it may not lock firmly in place. In a crash or a sudden stop, the cushion could shift under the weight of the person sitting on it instead of holding steady. Waldoch's dealers will inspect the fold-away seat and repair it, and you pay nothing for the work.

Ford Transit shuttle foldaway seats may not lock upright medium

Reported 2019-03-26 · Campaign 19V238000 · Model years: 2018

These are wheelchair-accessible and shuttle vehicles fitted with Freedman GO-3S foldaway seats. When you flip the bottom seat cushion down from its stowed position, it may not actually lock in place. If the vehicle is in a crash or comes to a sudden stop, the seat can shift under the weight of the person sitting in it instead of holding firm. A free repair kit from the seat maker fixes the latch.

Ford Transit rear seat cushion may not lock upright medium

Reported 2019-03-22 · Campaign 19V229000 · Model years: 2018

These vans were fitted by an outside company with Freedman GO-ES fold-away seats. When you flip the rear seat cushion down from its stored position and someone sits on it, the cushion may not lock securely in place. In a crash or a sudden stop, the person's weight can make the seat move instead of holding firm. The seat maker supplies a free repair kit, and owners were told to contact Freedman Seating to get it.

Ford Transit and E-350 van fold-away seat backs unlock high

Reported 2019-03-18 · Campaign 19V205000 · Model years: 2018

These 2015-2018 Ford Transit and E-350 vans were modified and fitted with Freedman fold-away seats. The seat back may not stay locked in position when weight pushes against it, such as in a crash or a sudden stop. The seats do not meet the federal safety standard for seating systems. If the seat back gives way, the person sitting in it can be hurt. Quality Van Sales will have the fold-away seats inspected and repaired free of charge.

Ford Transit and Ram ProMaster foldaway seats may unlock high

Reported 2019-03-01 · Campaign 19V332000 · Model years: 2018

These Ram ProMaster and Ford Transit vans were modified to add Freedman GO-ES Foldaway Seats. When you flip the seat back up from its folded, stowed position, it may not lock firmly in place. Under a hard load — a sudden stop or a crash — the seat back can move instead of holding. Anyone sitting in that seat is less protected if it shifts. Freedman dealers have already inspected and repaired the foldaway seats at no cost to owners.

Ford Transit XL hybrid front driveshaft may detach high

Reported 2019-02-21 · Campaign 19V103000 · Model years: 2018

This recall covers 2015-2018 Ford Transit vans that were converted with XL Hybrids' electric hybrid system. The universal joint on the front driveshaft, which is part of the spinning shaft that sends power to the wheels, can break. If it does, the front driveshaft can come loose from the van. The van then loses drive power, and the loose shaft can fall onto the road and become an obstacle for traffic behind you. A dealer will install an updated driveshaft.

Ford Transit foldaway seats may not lock in place medium

Reported 2018-11-06 · Campaign 18V782000 · Model years: 2018

These Ford Transit vans have Freedman GO-ES foldaway seats. When you swing the bottom seat cushion down from its stowed position into the upright, ready-to-sit position, it may not actually lock. Under heavy load — such as a crash or a hard, sudden stop — the seat can move instead of staying put. Anyone sitting in that seat is not properly supported and could be hurt more badly than they otherwise would be. The dealer inspects the foldaway seat and repairs it.
