On certain 2024 Cadillac XT5 vehicles, the fabric cushion of the driver's front airbag can tear as it inflates during a crash. If the bag rips, it won't inflate and protect the driver the way it was designed to. You can't tell whether your airbag has this problem by looking at it — it only shows up in a crash. Dealers will replace the whole driver's front airbag module free of charge.

Summary: General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024 Cadillac XT5 vehicles. The driver's front air bag cushion may tear during deployment, resulting in the air bag not deploying as intended.
Safety risk: An air bag that does not deploy as intended increases the risk of injury during a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the driver's front air bag module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 12, 2024. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N232439241.
