Cadillac XT5 and XT6 dashboard lights may not illuminate
low How serious is it? About this label
Without the illuminated reminder, the driver could fail to turn off the lights when no longer needed. Hazard warning lights, high beams, or turn signals that remain activated unintentionally can confuse other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. The notice does not tell owners to stop driving.
What's wrong, in plain English
On these Cadillacs, the indicators on the instrument panel may not light up when you switch on the hazard lights, the high beams or a turn signal. Those small reminders are how you notice the lights are still running, so you could leave a turn signal or your high beams on without realizing it, which confuses other drivers around you. These vehicles do not meet two federal rules. Dealers update the instrument panel software at no charge.
