Tesla Cybertruck windshield wiper motor can fail

NHTSA campaign 24V456000 · Reported 2024-06-19 · Tesla, Inc.

medium How serious is it? About this label

Moderately serious: the truck is fine in clear weather, but a wiper that quits in heavy rain or snow can leave you unable to see, so get it replaced promptly.

What's wrong, in plain English

Too much electrical current can flow to the controller that runs the front windshield wiper, and the controller can burn out. If that happens, the wiper stops working. In rain or snow you could suddenly lose your clear view of the road, which makes a crash more likely. Tesla will replace the wiper motor for free, and owner letters were mailed October 1, 2024. Certain 2024 Cybertrucks are affected.

2. Book service in the Tesla app or call 1-877-798-3752, referencing SB-24-17-006.
