Genesis GV60 and GV80 backup camera may shut off

NHTSA campaign 24V584000 · Reported 2024-08-07 · Hyundai Motor America

medium How serious is it? About this label

Losing the backup camera view increases the chance of hitting something or someone behind you, so the vehicle is still drivable but you should back up slowly, check your mirrors and turn around to look until it is fixed.

What's wrong, in plain English

Hyundai is recalling certain 2024-2025 Genesis GV60 and 2025 GV80 vehicles. When you shift into reverse, the backup camera picture may shut off instead of showing on the screen. Without that picture, you cannot see what is directly behind the vehicle while you are backing up. Dealers will update the camera software at no cost, and owner notification letters were mailed September 11, 2024.
