What's wrong, in plain English

Power windows are supposed to stop and go back down if they bump into something while closing, such as a hand, an arm, or a child's fingers. On these vehicles that safety feature may not react correctly, and the window does not drop back down far enough afterward. A closing window could squeeze a person hard before it lets go. The dealer will reprogram the driver's and passenger's door control units at no charge.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
2. Contact your Lincoln dealer, or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (recall 24C43), for the free reprogramming.
3. Until then, close windows yourself rather than using the automatic one-touch function, and keep hands clear.

Component: VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS
Summary: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus vehicles. The window automatic reversal system may not react correctly after detecting an obstruction, and the window reversal distance does not meet the minimum requirement. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 118, "Power-Operated Window Systems."
Safety risk: A closing window may exert excessive force by pinching a driver or passenger before retracting, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will recalibrate the driver door module (DDM) and the passenger door module (PDM), free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 28, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24C43.
