Cadillac Lyriq driver display may go blank while driving

NHTSA campaign 25V356000 · Reported 2025-05-29 · General Motors, LLC

medium How serious is it? About this label

Losing your speedometer, warning lights, and backup camera view increases crash risk; the notice does not tell you to stop driving, but get the update as soon as it is available.

What's wrong, in plain English

The screen in front of the driver can suddenly go dark while you are driving. When it does, you lose the information it shows — your speed, the warning lights that tell you something is wrong with the car, and the backup camera picture when you shift into reverse. Driving without that information makes a crash more likely. GM will fix it with new software for the display's control module, installed either at a dealer or sent to your car over the air.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your Lyriq is included.
2. Watch for an over-the-air update on your car's screen, or contact your Cadillac dealer.
3. If you need help, call Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223 (recall N252500680) — the repair is free.
