What's wrong, in plain English

The screen that shows the view behind you when you shift into reverse can turn gray with no camera picture at all. Without that view, it is harder to see a child, a pet, or an object behind the vehicle while you are backing up, which raises the chance of a crash. The fix is a software update for the vehicle's cockpit computer. Cadillac can send it to your Lyriq wirelessly, or a dealer can install it. Either way it is free.

Summary: General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024 Lyriq vehicles. The rearview camera screen may turn gray with no camera image.
Safety risk: An inoperative rearview camera can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: The vehicle cockpit unit (VCU) software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 16, 2026. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N252542530. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on February 12, 2026.
