Chrysler Pacifica and Voyager backup camera may go blank

NHTSA campaign 25V388000 · Reported 2025-06-12 · Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)

medium How serious is it? About this label

This is a real crash risk when backing up because you cannot see people or objects behind you, but the notice does not tell owners to stop driving, so you can keep driving while checking your mirrors and looking over your shoulder.

What's wrong, in plain English

A manufacturing mistake means the backup camera picture may not show up on the dashboard screen when you shift into reverse. Instead of seeing what is behind the van, the screen may stay blank. Federal safety rules require a working rear view image, so these vans do not meet the standard. A dealer will check the camera and install a new one if it is needed, at no cost to you.

What you should do

1. Enter your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your van is included. 2. Call your Chrysler dealer or Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403 (recall number 34C) to book the inspection. 3. Have the camera inspected and replaced if needed — the repair is free.

Summary
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2023 Chrysler Pacifica and Voyager vehicles. Due to a manufacturing error, the rearview camera image may not display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Safety risk
A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera, as necessary free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 3, 2025. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 34C.
