What's wrong, in plain English

On certain 2026 Volvo VNL trucks, the marker lights in the middle of the roof may not light up at all. These are the small lights that let other drivers see how wide and how tall your truck is, especially at night or in bad weather. With them dark, other drivers may not notice the truck in time. The trucks do not meet the federal rule for lamps. A dealer replaces the center roof marker light.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see if your truck is covered. 2. Contact Volvo Trucks at 800-528-6586 or your dealer and reference recall RVXX2509. 3. Have the center roof marker light replaced — the repair is free.

Summary: Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2026 New VN trucks. The roof center marker lights may fail to illuminate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Safety risk: Marker lights that fail to illuminate can reduce visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the center roof marker light, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed January 19, 2026. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2509. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning November 10, 2025.
