An engine that quits without warning while you are driving can lead to a crash, and while the notice does not tell owners to park the vehicle, this should be inspected as soon as you can arrange it.

What's wrong, in plain English

Small bits of leftover material from the factory may be inside the engine. That debris can damage the main bearings, which are the parts that let the engine's crankshaft spin smoothly. If a bearing fails, the engine can shut off while you are driving and you lose the ability to accelerate. A dealer will check the number one main bearing using special software and driving data, and if there is a problem, they will replace the entire engine at no cost to you.

Summary
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Toyota Tundra, Lexus LX, and 2024 Lexus GX vehicles equipped with a V35A engine. Debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the engine and cause the main bearings to fail, which can result in an engine stall and loss of drive power.
Safety risk
A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will perform an inspection on the #1 main bearing using vehicle inspection software and drive data, and if necessary, replace the engine. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner letters were mailed August 28, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB14 and 25TA14. Lexus' numbers for this recall are 25LB07 and 25LA07. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 24V381.
