What's wrong, in plain English

These 2023 Pacifica plug-in hybrids have a part on the 12-volt battery, called an isolator post, that may have been installed wrong. That can cause an electrical short, and the short can start a fire, either while you are driving or while the van is sitting parked. Chrysler says to park outside and away from buildings until it is repaired. A dealer will refit the part correctly at no cost.

What you should do

1. Check your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls to confirm your van is covered.
2. Park outside, away from your house, garage, or other buildings, until the repair is done.
3. Contact your Chrysler dealer, or FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (recall B0A), for the free repair.
