What's wrong, in plain English

These 2023 Pacifica plug-in hybrids have a part on the 12-volt battery, called an isolator post, that may have been installed wrong. That can cause an electrical short, and the short can start a fire, either while you are driving or while the van is sitting parked. Chrysler says to park outside and away from buildings until it is repaired. A dealer will refit the part correctly at no cost.

Summary: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2023 Chrysler Pacifica plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. An electrical short may occur due to an incorrectly installed 12-volt battery isolator post, resulting in a fire while parked or driving.
Safety risk: A fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will correct the isolator to fit the anti-rotation stud, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 28, 2023. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is B0A.
