Volvo VN and VHD trucks: passenger bench seat may loosen
medium How serious is it? About this label
Serious in a crash — the seat and its belt may not hold someone in place, though the notice does not tell owners to park the truck.
What's wrong, in plain English
The bench seat on the passenger side may not be properly attached to the floor. The welded nut holding it down was not made strong enough, and that same area anchors the seat belt. In a crash the attachment points can fail, letting the whole bench seat and the person in it shift out of place. Dealers will fix it by taking out the weld nut and putting in two nuts and a washer instead.
