Ram ProMaster and Dodge Journey backup camera may fail
medium How serious is it? About this label
Moderately serious — a faulty rear image raises the risk of backing into someone or something, but the notice does not tell owners to stop driving.
What's wrong, in plain English
A tiny computer chip inside the backup camera can crack. When it does, the picture behind the vehicle may not show up properly on the screen as you reverse, so you could miss a person or object behind you. Chrysler will replace the camera at no cost, but the parts are not ready yet. The letter mailed September 30, 2025 is only a warning; a second letter with the actual fix is expected around July 2026.
What you should do
2. Watch for Chrysler's second letter, expected around July 2026, announcing that the replacement cameras are available.
3. When the parts are ready, book the free camera replacement with your dealer, or call Chrysler at 800-853-1403 (recall 59C).

- Safety risk
- A rearview image that does not display properly reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy

A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated July 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 59C.
