What's wrong, in plain English

The rails that the second-row seats are mounted on may have been welded incorrectly at the factory. A bad weld can let the seat shift or come loose in a crash, so the seat may not hold the person sitting in it the way it should, and that passenger could be hurt worse. Dealers will replace the second-row seat rails free of charge. Toyota is handling this recall in phases, so parts may not be available for every owner right away.

2. Contact your Toyota dealer to book the seat rail replacement; owner letters were mailed May 15, 2026.
