What's wrong, in plain English
Toyota is recalling certain seven-passenger Sienna Hybrid vehicles because the second-row seat backs may not stay secured during a crash. An unsecured seat back may not properly protect the person sitting there. Dealers will update the software that controls the vehicle’s restraint system. For vehicles with the “Mobility as a Service” package, dealers will replace both second-row seat backs. These repairs are free.
What you should do
2. Contact a Toyota dealer to arrange the repair; Toyota customer service is available at 1-800-331-4331.
3. Have the dealer complete the applicable software update or seat-back replacement free of charge.
Where do I find my VIN, and what do I tell the dealer?
Your VIN is the 17-character code on the lower left of the windshield, on your registration and usually on your insurance card. Enter it at nhtsa.gov/recalls to see whether this recall is still open on your car. When you call the dealer, say you have an open safety recall and give them NHTSA campaign number 26V690000.
