GM and Cadillac vehicles missing electronic owner's manual download low

Reported 2026-02-26 · Campaign 26V114000 · Model years: 2025

The radio in these vehicles was not set to the right status at the factory, so it never downloaded the electronic owner's manual that is meant to live on the dashboard screen. Nothing mechanical is wrong with the vehicle. The concern is that without the manual, owners may not find instructions for using the vehicle safely — including airbag and seating information — and could be hurt in a crash as a result. A dealer resets the radio so the manual downloads automatically.

Chevrolet Equinox EV pedestrian alert sound doesn't change enough medium

Reported 2025-12-18 · Campaign 25V878000 · Model years: 2025

Certain 2025 and 2026 Chevrolet Equinox EVs do not change their warning sound enough between sitting still and rolling at low speed. Electric vehicles make almost no engine noise, so they are required to produce a sound that tells people on foot the vehicle is moving. Because the difference is too small here, someone nearby may not realize the Equinox has started to move. The fix is a free software update, done at a dealer or sent to the vehicle wirelessly.

Cadillac Optiq and Equinox EV tire tread can peel off high

Reported 2025-10-16 · Campaign 25V704000 · Model years: 2025

Some 2025-2026 Cadillac Optiq and Chevrolet Equinox EV vehicles came with 21-inch Continental all-season tires. On one or more of these tires, the tread — the rubber layer that grips the road — can come partly or completely off the tire. Dealers will look at all four tires and replace any that were built during a specific production week, free of charge. GM mailed owner notification letters on November 19, 2025.

Chevrolet Equinox EV pedestrian warning sound too quiet low

Reported 2025-09-25 · Campaign 25V639000 · Model years: 2024

Electric cars are very quiet, so they are required to make an artificial sound at low speeds to warn people nearby. On certain 2024 Equinox EVs, that sound does not get loud enough when the car starts moving compared with when it is sitting still. Someone walking near the car, especially a person who cannot see it coming, may not realize it is pulling away. The fix is a software update, done at a dealer or sent to the car.

Chevrolet Equinox EV cruise control may not brake medium

Reported 2025-01-16 · Campaign 25V012000 · Model years: 2025

These all-wheel-drive electric SUVs left the factory with the wrong software in the computer that controls the brakes. Because of that error, the adaptive cruise control, which is supposed to slow the vehicle down automatically when traffic ahead slows, may not apply the brakes when you expect it to. If you are relying on cruise control to slow you down, the vehicle may keep going instead, leaving you to brake yourself.

Chevrolet Equinox EV pedestrian warning sound too quiet medium

Reported 2024-12-12 · Campaign 24V925000 · Model years: 2025

Electric cars are nearly silent, so they play a warning sound at low speeds to alert people walking nearby. On certain 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EVs, the software that controls that sound was loaded incorrectly, so the noise the car makes is quieter than the government requires. The car itself drives normally, but someone crossing in front of you, especially in a parking lot, may not hear you coming. A dealer reloads the correct software.

Chevrolet Blazer and Equinox doors may unlatch and open high

Reported 2024-10-02 · Campaign 24V737000 · Model years: 2025

The metal catches that your doors latch onto — one on each of the four side doors — were not heat-treated correctly at the factory, so they can break. If one breaks, that door can pop open on its own, including while the vehicle is moving. Someone could fall out or be hit by the swinging door. Every affected vehicle is still sitting on a dealer lot, so no owner letters are being sent.
