Owner letters are expected to start going out September 29, 2026; until then, check your tire pressures yourself with a gauge.
Certain Jeep Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee L, Wagoneer and Wagoneer L vehicles have a software error that can stop the gear display from showing. The blower motor — the fan that pushes air through the vents — can fail. If it quits, the defroster and defogger stop working, so you cannot clear fog or frost from the windshield. That leaves you looking through a clouded or iced-over window, and poor visibility makes a crash more likely. Because of this, these vehicles do not meet the federal standard for windshield defrosting and defogging. A dealer will inspect the blower motor and replace it if needed, free of charge.
A small electrical part inside the big center touchscreen can get too hot, and when it does the backup camera picture doesn't come up on the screen. Backing up without that view makes it harder to see people or objects behind you, and federal rules require the image. Chrysler says dealers already replaced the display in every affected Jeep, so if yours was covered the work has been done.
Certain 2024 Jeep Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L models have incorrect software in the rearview camera. Because of it, the camera picture may not appear on the screen when you shift into reverse. Without that view, you cannot see what is directly behind the vehicle while backing up. This also means these vehicles do not meet the federal rear visibility rule. Dealers will reprogram the camera module with corrected software at no charge to you.
Bolts that hold the metal support bar for the radiator at the front of these SUVs may not be tightened properly. Because of that, in a crash the airbags may not deploy the way they should, and fuel can leak. Airbags that go off incorrectly can hurt the people inside, and leaking gasoline can catch fire. The vehicles fail two federal safety standards, one for crash protection and one for fuel system integrity. Dealers will check the bolts and tighten them free of charge.
A connector for the side airbags built into the front seats may not have been fastened properly at the factory. If that connection is loose, the side airbags might not inflate during a side-impact crash, leaving you without that protection. The airbags look normal and there is no warning you would notice while driving. The fix is simple — the dealer secures the connector at no cost. Chrysler says every affected vehicle has already been repaired.
The screen behind the steering wheel runs on software, and an error in that software can make the speedometer show a speed that isn't your actual one. You could be traveling faster or slower than the number you see. Nothing is physically broken and the rest of the vehicle works normally, but the display fails the federal rule requiring accurate speed readings. A dealer checks the cluster and loads corrected software.
