Cadillac XT5 and XT6 dashboard lights may not illuminate low

Reported 2024-06-20 · Campaign 24V459000 · Model years: 2024, 2025

On these Cadillacs, the indicators on the instrument panel may not light up when you switch on the hazard lights, the high beams or a turn signal. Those small reminders are how you notice the lights are still running, so you could leave a turn signal or your high beams on without realizing it, which confuses other drivers around you. These vehicles do not meet two federal rules. Dealers update the instrument panel software at no charge.

GMC Acadia and Cadillac XT5, XT6 Windshield Bonding Problem high

Reported 2023-10-12 · Campaign 23V681000 · Model years: 2024

Windshields are glued to the body with a strong sealant that helps hold the glass in place during a crash. On some of these vehicles the windshield was installed without the proper sealant, so it may not be properly bonded. In a crash the windshield could come loose or detach, and people inside could be hurt worse. The dealer inspects the windshield, applies primer and sealant, and replaces the glass if it is damaged, all free of charge.

GM SUVs may lose power from faulty transmission gear high

Reported 2023-03-16 · Campaign 23V172000 · Model years: 2023

The transmission in these Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC SUVs may have been built with the wrong gear inside. Because of that, the axle shaft on the driver's side can come apart from the transmission. If it does, the vehicle can suddenly lose the power that drives the wheels. It also means the vehicle may roll away after you shift into park, because park no longer holds it in place.

Cadillac XT5, XT6, GMC Acadia tire label unreadable low

Reported 2022-09-22 · Campaign 22V708000 · Model years: 2023

On certain 2023 Cadillac XT5, XT6 and GMC Acadia vehicles, the sticker on the post behind the driver's door may be hard to read. That label lists the tire size your vehicle is built for, and federal rules require it to be legible. If a tire shop cannot read it, the wrong size tires could be put on the vehicle, and the wrong tires can make it harder to handle and raise crash risk.

Cadillac XT5, XT6 and GMC Acadia rearview camera fails medium

Reported 2022-09-22 · Campaign 22V709000 · Model years: 2020, 2021

Your vehicle has the optional Surround Vision camera system. The cables that carry the backup camera's picture to your screen were crimped incorrectly when they were built. A bad crimp means the rearview camera can quit working altogether or cut in and out. When the screen goes blank you lose your view of what is directly behind the vehicle while backing up, which raises the chance of hitting something or someone. Dealers will replace the cables free.

Cadillac XT5, XT6, GMC Acadia fuel tank valve leaks critical

Reported 2022-06-23 · Campaign 22V446000 · Model years: 2022

On certain 2022 Cadillac XT5, XT6 and GMC Acadia all-wheel-drive vehicles, a valve on the fuel tank may not seal properly. That valve is meant to keep gasoline from escaping if the vehicle ever rolls over in a crash. If it is knocked out of place or missing, fuel can leak during a rollover, and spilled gasoline can catch fire. Dealers will inspect the tank and replace the tank shell if the valve is bad.

Cadillac XT5, XT6 and GMC Acadia rear suspension bolt high

Reported 2022-06-16 · Campaign 22V427000 · Model years: 2022

A bolt in the left-rear suspension may not have been tightened correctly at the factory. That bolt holds a part called the toe link, which keeps the rear wheel pointed the right way. If the bolt is loose or missing, the toe link can come apart while you are driving and the rear wheel can shift out of position. A dealer will inspect the left-rear suspension and put in a new fastener if it is loose or missing.

Cadillac XT6 brake fluid cap missing its warning label low

Reported 2022-06-02 · Campaign 22V392000 · Model years: 2022

Under the hood, the cap on the brake fluid tank is missing its printed warning label. That label is what warns against letting dirt or other debris get into the fluid when the cap is opened. Without it, the brake fluid could be contaminated without anyone realizing. Dirty brake fluid can affect how well the brakes work. Federal brake rules require the label, so these cars don't meet the standard as built.

Cadillac XT5, XT6 and GMC Acadia fuel leak risk critical

Reported 2021-06-03 · Campaign 21V422000 · Model years: 2021

The lines that carry gasoline to the engine may not have been connected and seated properly when the vehicle was built. A line that is not seated can work loose or come apart, letting gasoline leak out. Fuel leaking near a hot engine can catch fire. If you ever smell gasoline or see a puddle under the vehicle, stop driving it and call for help. Dealers will inspect the lines and replace them if needed.

Chevy, Buick, GMC, Cadillac: Transmission Fluid Leak Risk critical

Reported 2020-10-29 · Campaign 20V668000 · Model years: 2020

Inside the automatic transmission on these Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC vehicles is a part tied to the automatic stop/start system. The end cap on that part may be missing bolts. If bolts are missing, transmission fluid can leak out. A bad leak can leave the vehicle unable to move under its own power, which is dangerous if it happens in traffic. Leaking transmission fluid can also catch fire if it lands on something hot. A dealer will inspect the part and replace it if bolts are missing.

Buick, Cadillac, Chevy, GMC SUVs: fuel pump can stall engine critical

Reported 2020-10-15 · Campaign 20V639000 · Model years: 2020

The fuel pump inside the gas tank pushes fuel to the engine. On these vehicles, a small piece of leftover plastic from the factory can be stuck in the pump's tiny nozzle. That bit can block the opening so the engine does not get enough fuel. If that happens, the engine can quit while you are driving, with no warning first. Dealers replace the whole fuel pump unit.

GM Trucks and SUVs May Have Weak Roof Airbags medium

Reported 2020-07-30 · Campaign 20V446000 · Model years: 2020

The roof-rail airbags run along the edge of the ceiling above the side windows and are meant to protect your head in a side crash or rollover. On these vehicles, a piece that directs gas into the airbag may not have been crimped onto the inflator tightly enough and can come off when the airbag deploys. If that happens, the airbag may not protect you as well in a crash. Dealers replace the affected airbag units at no cost.
